Cameron Allen Logan, KHS 2001

Cameron Logan attended Kennett schools through 9th grade, then transferred to Salesianum High School.  His mother, Connie Logan, has taught at KCSD for more than 20 years.  His brother and sister both graduated from Kennett High School.

Cameron died May 6, 2001, due to a motor vehicle accident caused by another vehicle.

At the time of his death, Cameron was a senior honor student at Salesianum, where he played varsity tennis and and had received a Service Award in the Student Council.  He was a national winner in the Continental Math League in 1995.  In earlier years, he played JV soccer, basketball, and tennis at Kennett High School.  He was an avid snowboarder and frequented many of the Western Ski resorts.  He wrote rap music and poetry.  He had an inquisitive mind and yearning to learn and had been granted academic scholarships to PSU, Univ. of Portland, and the Univ. of Utah.  Before starting college, he planned to travel across the country.  He was a counselor at Camp Arrowhead in 1998 and taught swim lessons at the Kennett YMCA.  Overall, he had a sense of humor and was loved by everyone he knew.

On Saturday, May 5, 2012, there will be a get together to remember Cameron at McGillin's Olde Ale House in Philadelphia.  Then, on Monday, May 7, there will be a memorial golf tournament at Loch Nairn Golf Club in Avondale.  A portion of the proceeds, together with proceeds from an online auction, will benefit the Cameron Logan Scholarship Fund for need-based students at Salesianum High School.  Starting in 2013, this annual event will also benefit students at Kennett High School.
